Little drawings, pasted-in photos and news clippings, or, in this case, tracings of leaves found on the Community property make otherwise exhaustive research days rewards. Perhaps all the land has been explored, and the oceans nearly probed to their depths, but ephemera in old books remains a magical discovery. These drawings were found in the back cover of a book from the Wallingford, Connecticut Community–a satellite community of the Oneida. Four oaks along with their Latin names are depicted along with tracings of the nuts and the trees’ location on the grounds.
